I want to be transparent so I thought I'd break down today's website flip. I've been talking more about this side hustle of mine and there's been interest.
So, I share how I started, how it works, how much I made and how you can start, if you want.
What is website flipping?
I build, grow and sell websites for profit.
For example, build a site for $20 and sell it for $400, netting $380.
I've been doing this for years.
For examples, let me know - I don't know if posting the url is allowed
You can also buy and flip a website, where you invest $X then grow the site and sell it for profit. I've never done this before but, I've partnered with investors in this.
I sold a website to an investor for $2,500, grew it for her and worked on it and helped her flip it for $6,500 a few months later (like 3-4 months).
How much can you make website flipping?
The sky's the limit, honestly.
My last flip not counting today's made me $2,500. I also have one for sale for $40K. I've also sold sites for $12K, $5K, $8K, $4K, and my all-time high is $81K for a website flip.
Starter sites sell for $200 to $500, usually, in my experience.
So, if you flip 4 a month at $400 each, that's $1,600, just an example.
Seasoned/aged sites sell for $1K+ each.
Is it worth it?
I think so. It takes me a few hours to build these sites. You can flip it for the short-term (a starter site) or hold it over the long-term (a seasoned/aged site).
Generally, the older a site, the more valuable it is.
So, I do a mix of both, creating a regular income stream for myself. I do this for a side hustle all throughout the year. And, I've made over six figures from website flipping.
How much did I flip today's site for?
I've flipped sites for between $100 to $81K each.
Today's flip was for $100.
Tbh, I haven't flipped a site for this low of a price in a long time.
I recently reduced the price of this website to encourage a quick sale and it worked. I still profited in the end and this sale will potentially lead to more opportunities, which is a nice side effect of website flipping.
Why I like this side hustle?
This is one of my longest-running side hustles.
I've tried a bunch of different gigs but, the reason I stuck with this is because:
With as long as I've been doing it, I do teach others now and my students (1000s) have had success with this.
Do you do website flipping?
Have you heard of it?
Would you try it?

I've tried a bunch of different gigs but, the reason I stuck with this is because:
- The expenses are low ($20 to $50 to build/flip a website)
- Solopreneur friendly
- Good for introverts - I don't have to talk to people face-to-face or on the phone
- Its flexible - I work the hours I want
- Lucrative - I've made a nice amount from this side hustle
- No social media, no emails, no DMs, not selling-intensive
With as long as I've been doing it, I do teach others now and my students (1000s) have had success with this.
